O.k. been playing with Nuke for about 5 years now and it never crossed my mind about theme detail till now.
Here is what I have noticed Nuke is usualy sharp looking but the colors are kind of basic. Have been playing with Platinum for the past few months and the theme colors seam to be sharper in a metalic sort of way. Have looked into Evo and the colors are very rich and the site realy jumps out at you with a metalic look (even dull colors)
Is this because of programming or just the effort of the people that design the themes?
I am currently working on a package project for race tracks to use to build their track site and was looking at using Platinum as the base. I am currently dscussing a new modual creation with evader and he mentoned that he works with and recoments Raven so I have been looking at Raven and love what I am seeing about security and ease of use.
The people that will be Admin for the track sites are usualy great racers but know little about web site opperation. they are looking for a high gloss look and idiot proof data entry.
So back to my earlier question sort of. Can you give Raven a crisp high gloss theme like is found on an Evo site or at least a good metalic like Platinum themes are sporting? Also what type of themes does raven use? regular PHP Nuke or do you have to modify them. If you have to modify them is there anyone out there that is specializing in raven themes right now?
Thanks

The themes that work with the other nukes will generally work with RN. However, we have made our main them XHTML compliant and more secure and that's why it loads so much faster. We are not in the theme design business and don't intend to go there . There are several theme designers that are starting to specialize in RN themes but your best bet is to take another them and try it. If it doesn't work it shouldn't tak a lot to make it work. We have endeavored to keep the core code as stable as possible except in the 2 most important areas - Security and Compliance. _________________ They that hear not the music think the dancers mad |

| Shouldnīt be so hard to create a high gloss theme based on fisubice I believe. But the problems are often then the loading times and validation errors. Many visitors donīt wait until the site is loaded. So whenever you buy a theme you should have the option to give it back and get your money back. |

I know this is an old thread but I felt compelled to add my two cents worth. Any theme can be made to have a glossy look and that is dependant on the theme designer. XHTML compliance in itself will not make a theme load any quicker than one that isn't. What makes for a fast loading theme is the limited use of graphics. The dull themes are created using less graphics and more colors hence they load in faster.
I have seen high resolution themes with 20 seperate graphics in the header alone. That is poor design plain and simple. Each time you change from one page to another you have to sit and watch 20 graphics load over and over again.
Evolution themes will not work on RN because of the extra coding in the evo theme that allows for special features that only evo uses.
Drop in at http://www.papamikecreations.net if you want to talk about themes. |
